J0289439 The PRINCE2 2009 project is well under way, and we will see a new version of the method being launched, well, in 2009.

pearcemayfield Head of Training, John Edmonds, is one of the Authoring team taking PRINCE2 on the next step of its development.

Users who have invested time and energy in the existing version need not worry about how the method will evolve, John advises. "We're not going to lose any of the good things from the existing version and we will be focusing on the method's accessibility and usefulness." He says that the perceived bureaucracy and lack of ability to scale the method are being tackled in the new version, along with some inconsistencies practitioners have noted. "However, the things that people use, such as the business case, process model, roles of the project team and project stages will all continue to form the basis of the method. We want to keep all these things while at the same time making it less intimidating and more adaptable."
