Ask your finance team to conduct a meeting with your public company accountants and to have them, the public company accoutants, provide insight into IT general controls. In addition, there are multiple materials available on the Internet that specialize in Sarbanes-Oxley section 404 for IT such as the “IT Control Objectives for Sarbanes-Oxley” published and provided by the Information Technology Governance Institute (ITGI). Get everyone educated in Sarbanes-Oxley as early as possible.
